Wangaratta has excellent educational facilities servicing the needs of the region. Throughout the district, there are various childcare facilities, kindergartens as well as before and after school care available.

We are home to 20 rural and town based primary schools. We also have three secondary colleges which provide education to 2,600 students as well as tertiary providers such as GOTAFE and Charles Sturt University.

The Centre which provides adult learning opportunities for our region and the Wangaratta District Specialist School caters for special needs requirements.

The Wangaratta Clinical School is a collaboration between North East Health and Melbourne University which provides a state of the art training facility and accommodation for students studying the Doctor of Medicine (MD).

The local education sector is the eighth largest economic contributor and fourth largest employer.
