With naturally beautiful scenery, rich history, and exceptional culinary delights, the tourism industry in the Rural City of Wangaratta is thriving.   

Home to the International Festival of Jazz and Blues, the grass roots sustainable living festival The Off Grid Living Festival, King Valley Balloon Festival and many more events throughout the year, which turn sleepy villages into vibrant festival grounds, there is an event for everyone.

From world-class, award-winning wines and a celebration of regional produce, to mountainous countryside, internationally renowned cycling experiences, valleys, rivers and streams, the tourism industry contributes an estimated $164 million to the local economy and directly employees 800 people.  

The tourism industry of the Rural City of Wangaratta represents a diverse range of activities with the regions tourism pillars being cycle, wine, beer and food, nature based activities as well as arts and culture.  The municipality has many opportunities for investment in the tourism industry, including in accommodation, hospitality, regional produce and tour experience sectors.
